This initiative is part of Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s sustainable program, 1% for Smile and Tree, which focuses on two primary objectives: humanitarian assistance and environmental conservation, particularly in Gianyar. Through this program, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud actively collaborates with and supports four foundations dedicated to the welfare of children with disabilities, orphans, and children with special needs.
In the environmental sector, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud partners with the Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Gianyar to implement green initiatives, such as tree planting and ecosystem conservation. As part of its commitment, Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud aims to continuously educate the community on the importance of environmental preservation and the responsible utilization of organic waste, particularly through the production of eco-enzymes. These natural solutions enhance water quality, reduce pollution, and provide numerous other benefits.
The campaign for environmental sustainability is spearheaded by Dinas Lingkungan Hidup Kabupaten Gianyar, led by Head of the organization, Ni Made Mirnawati, SSTP, MSi, along with her team. The agency plays a crucial role in encouraging public and business participation in conservation efforts. Government involvement is key to fostering collective awareness and promoting impactful actions that contribute to a healthier ecosystem.
Temesi Village, particularly Sangsang River, holds significant importance for the local community. The river serves as the primary water source for subak farmers, who depend on its flow to irrigate their rice fields and plantations. Maintaining the cleanliness and quality of the river is a shared responsibility among local government, residents, and various stakeholders.
Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud’s General Manager, Endy Hermawan, emphasized the vital role of businesses in environmental conservation, stating, “Businesses have a moral responsibility to contribute to environmental sustainability and community welfare. Initiatives such as tree planting and eco-enzyme pouring are tangible steps toward supporting the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are based on five core principles: People, Prosperity, Planet, Partnership, and Peace. We believe that business sustainability is not only measured by economic gains but also by the positive contributions made to the environment and society.”
With the synergy between the private sector, government, and community members, initiatives like this have the potential to evolve into sustainable movements that create a lasting positive impact on the environment and future generations. Arkamara Dijiwa Ubud remains committed to its vision of integrating business with social and environmental responsibility, ensuring a greener and more sustainable future for all.
